What I Think About Poetry

I believe that through time poetry has stayed a popular writing style because it is an easy way to show your feelings toward a subject, because poetry makes it easier to understand.

The most popular form of poetry used would have to be rhyme because everything sounds more interesting and a lot easier to remember when it is catchy which most rhyme’s are.

I believe that poetry plays a large role in our lives because it is in everything such as song all songs are played around poetry’s guidelines.

Poetry appeals to people because it is catchy and you could make anything interesting by using poetry because of it’s easy to use rules.

I do not enjoy reading or writing poetry because I do not find poetry appealing because I do not like to read at all, that is why I do not know any poems off of the top of my head.

Poems in Everyday Life

I think that the quote means that people wright poetry because it is in everyone and is built because of the passion that the person has on the sbject. I don't totally agree with the statment because when I write poetry the words dont just bundle out of me they are forced out because I want to tell someone my feelings on the subject.

My first example of poetry in my everyday life is the paint supplies song which is on the paint supplies advert on television. The point of writing the song as poetry is so that it is catchy and that it gets stuck in your head, and if for some reason a conversation started about paint I would suddenly think of paint supplies without even knowing.

My second example is a final goodbye to a familys mother which I found in the newspaper. The resoning behind writing their final fairwell as a poem is to show their feelings toward the person and how much they miss them.

YouTube Clip Response

I was acturally quite surprised with some of the statistics that the movie showed. I thought that the numbers for things like how many people make a new myspace everyday because I believed the numbers to be very low.

I did not acturally find any of the facts to interesting, because I am not personally ammused by facts or imformation based on satistics. I did not find any imformation to be so out there that it may not be true but I did still find some of the facts to be unreal but still believable.

There is nothing in the video that i disagree with because i believe that they are reliable facts with correct numbers to support them. When I read the imformation I thought about my life and where I fit into all of those facts and how many things people do that I also do in my spare time.

Recreational Drugs

I don't believe that recreational drugs should ever be used so, elite sportsmen should have no reason to be allowed to do it either. The fact that the question of wether elite sportsmen should be allowed disgusts me.

Using recreational drugs is illegal and there is no real excuse that an elite sportsman should be able to use, no matter what someone thinks because they will only end up making themselves worse, and in the case of an elite sportsman there will be consequences to face. Elite sportsmen also have a very important role in the community as a person that our youth can look up to and use as a role model and should try to keep that role by keeping within our laws.

Elite sportsmen should not be tested for recreational drugs because it is their own choice that they knoe the consequences of, and if they do get cought they should suffer the same consequences that any normal person would suffer, because they are people to no matter how more well known they are.

Book V's Movie

I think that a book is better than a movie in the sence that a book gives a lot more detail than a movie does and a movie usually has alot of the book missing out, this is hard to tell and you do not realise unless you have read the book in the first place.

I have encounted one of these situations when i went to see the first harry potter movie. I had read the book before hand and was dissapointed to see so much information and detail left out in the movie.

I think that a book is better than a movie because you can gather alot more information from it, because it is more detailed and withholds more information about its subject in most cases. I personally have watched a movie for a subject and then read the book that the movie was based on, and saw first hand how much more knowledge that you can retain from a book than a movie in school situations.

Motorbikes

I am interested in motorbikes. I think that the best brand of motorbike if you are looking for a 2 wheeler is a kawasaki, and if you want a quad (a motorbike with four wheels) you should be looking at a yamaha raptor which goes from pw 50 to a gigantic 600. If you are my size you could be looking for a bike between a 150 to a 230 but if you are taller than me then you would be looking at a 250.

At home i only have quads but you can still have fun. I have yamaha raptors which are not your usual utility quad motorbike but are built for racing. The raptors are good because they are also good for jumps and do not need as much skill as a 2 wheeler bike and are much easier to controll with the landings.

I use motorbikes to just muck around in the padock or try to test my skill if that is with jumps which I build up the distances everytime or with a race against my family or friends.

Deadly Prospect

The manuscripts name is Deadly Prospect and its focus is on a boy named Lincon Mackenzie and his family’s struggles and how he uses motocross riding to escape these problems. He uses riding because when he is riding he feels like nothing else in the world matters, but even riding doesn't help him escape what his younger brother Glen is getting into.

The book will appeal to younger ages such as twelve to sixteen. This is because it uses problems that a young teenager may be faced with and expresses feelings that they would feel. Lincon also is into what most teenagers are into and his reactions are very much the same as well.

This book will sell exceptionally well because of its relation to many of the audiences lives, and the excitement brought to the reader through the detailed adventurous righting of Fleur Beale who also wrote the popular book Playing To Win.

Peak Adventure

For peak adventure I am doing scuba diving. I chose to do scuba because it is something new and I have always been interested in sea creatures, and once I finish peak adventure, I will be able to go scuba diving whenever I want because I will get my scuba diving licence.

The most challenging thing that I believe that I will find in scuba diving is trying not to die. This is because there are so many ways that I can die on this trip, for example if I ascend out of the water to quickly there is a possibility that my lungs will explode.

The most challenging thing that I will do on the trip is without a doubt the cooking because I find it hard to cook pancakes without burning them let alone full meals for three days.

The best thing that I will experience on peak adventure is definitely being able to breathe underwater, just the feeling I can imagine would be quite amazing and mind blowing and I will be unable to take in it.

I believe that it is important to challenge yourself because when you complete the challenging task you will have a higher respect for your self and it really does make you believe that if you set your mind to something you can accomplish your goal. This will ultimately help you do do your work and day to day activities better than ever.

My knowledge of Shakespeare

I have read a few of Shakespeare's poems, but sadly I cannot remember any of the poems that I have read but I can remember when I read them, which was usually in my english classes.

I have actually seen one or two or shakespeare's plays they were Taming of the shrew and Romeo and Julliet. These two plays showed me how shakespeare's plays ranged from comedies to tragedies.

No I havent read any of Shakespeares plays because i have never felt the need to and I find scripts confusing to read because there are many peoples lines on one page so you have to keep switching character.

I would have no clue if I have seen modern versions of Shakespeares plays because i have not seen many and would not be able to pick it out, like Ten Things I hate about you I had to be told that it was a modern version of taming of the shrew.

I do not know anything about his work apart from the fact that he wrot poems and plays. But I would imagine that he did alot more than what I know of.

I wouldn't be interested in being in this play because I am not interesed in shakespeare's works or Shakespeare's life.

It is bad luck to mention the word Macbeth in a theater because it curses the actors and makes them do a bad performance.

This summer, let 'em READ a movie

I think that the Author started this blog entry to get young children off of the couch and off of the computer. The Author is also trying to encourage learning for children, as the books written by Elliot Anderson are educational.

I think that the slogan "readers are the leaders others follow" means that the readers have a advantage over the people that dont read and that the people will soon realise that.

I think that parents that are woundering what they are going to do with their children on the hollidays may view and be enlightened by this blog entry.

I read "This summer, let 'em READ a movie" it was posted on "Saturday, April 07, 2007".

It was about Elliot Anderson’s action adventure novels and how they are educational and are a good book that can be read by whole families on hollidays. It is also about trying to get your children off of the couch and computer on the hollidays.

There was an opinion that i did find interesting, it was that they find sitting infront of a computer or a TV is unhealthy but reading a book while sitting down is not unhealthy.

I did feel very inclined to post a comment because i believe that sitting down on a computer is just as unhealthy as reading a book for the same period of time as you would be on your computer.

How I find a Book to Read

I usually go to the end of the isles of books in the library and type things into the computer at the end that I would like to read a book about, if that doesn’t work I go by books that my English teacher recommends to our class. I use these methods because I know what I want to read about like what I am interested in and because English teachers usually have a good taste in books and know what is appropriate for our age group to read.

I find my strategies to be quite successful, because I when I read about something that I like I cannot stop reading until I have finished the book where I look for sequels to the book.

The book I am reading now is called Deadly Prospect this book is about motocross. I came about it by using my first strategies typing key words into the computers at the end of the isles. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in motocross because it is a quite an interesting book on a young boys adventure from start when he became interested in motocross to when he finishes his motocross journey.

Looking for Blondie by Jenny Pausacker

The book name is Looking For Blondie, and the main character is Justine. Justine is fourteen years old she is short with a height of 140 cm she has plain old brown hair and good teeth. The book is told in first person narrative by Justine. Justines uncle (Sam Wedgwood) is a crime novel writer and he has a doll that he uses as inspiration to write novels, untill one night when it got stolen and he lost his wrighting touch.

I think that the author has created Justine because she makes a perspective that ouldn't have been given by anyone else in the story because she lives with him and is close to him. Justine was made this age because children at that age have a very discriptive look at things and that helps the reader picture what is going on in their heads.

If Justine was a boy the story wouldn't have flowed as good as it does, because if she was a boy she would not have liked Brett McCluskey so much because they would have been from the same sex. This would damage the story because the offensive things that brett said and did would have been taken more seriously by Justine and they wouldn't have stayed friends.

Diary vs Blog

People would rather do a blogger than a diary because with a blog you can get peoples personal oppinions on your work, and they can support you to keep on wrighting if you have written a good starting to a story.

A diary is really a recolection of your day that you write, you usurally do an entry every day or week. A blog is more like a recolection on a piece of work that you have written, or the actual piece of wrighting, this is viewed by many people for encouragement or help like were to go next.

Document’s Name My Alpine Path
It is a community of readers that all write poems they all comment on each others poems, they update this blog every 1 to 7 days with new poems and comments. First the people writing the poems write about what they are going to base their next poem upon and then in a different entry write the poem, this is good because you can see where they are coming from.

Short Story #1

Ant God by James Lovegrove

Ant God was a very intaresting story about two young boys that saw something that was ment be left unseen. The book doesn't really explain what they saw but you still get a clear idea of what t was (God).

At the end of the book a tragerdy hapens were Jason gets hit by a train during a storm, just as they were about to destroy the glases.

I liked the book because it was weird and weird means intaresting and i like interesting because it convinces me to keep on reading, just woundering what strange thing was going to happen.

How I view myself as a reader

I see my self as a struggling reader because of my slow reading style where i do not gain any of the imformation out of what i read and my lack of vocabluary (which i am getting tutoring for).

I like to read small books because even if i have read little pages it seems like alot and big writing because i feel lke i have improved my reading skilly because i finish reading a page.

I cannot say that I acturaly enjoy reading but when i find the right book i could read it over and over again. I do not like a certain type of jonra or am interested in a certin author but certain books an catch my eye and make me want to read it and leaves we wanting more.

The type of book that i like is the ones that pack all of the action into every paragraph so that if i happen to have a break from reading i will base the rest of the day on woundering what happens next.
